Healing Frequencies

Solfeggio frequencies are a set of 9 specific musical tones that are said to have healing and spiritual benefits. They are based on the ancient Western musical scale but differ from the notes we use today. The Solfeggio frequencies are:

174 Hz: Liberating Guilt and Fear

285 Hz: Healing Tissue and Organs

396 Hz: Releasing Negative Emotions

417 Hz: Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change

528 Hz: Transformation and Miracles

639 Hz: Connecting Relationships

741 Hz: Awakening Intuition

852 Hz: Returning to Spiritual Order

963 Hz: Divine Consciousness or Enlightenment

The theory behind Solfeggio frequencies is that they can resonate with our bodies and minds, helping heal us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Sound frequencies: Sound waves can cause cells to vibrate, leading to changes in their structure and function. For example, studies have shown that exposure to low-frequency sound waves can increase the production of growth factors in cells, which can promote cell growth and differentiation.

Electromagnetic frequencies: Electromagnetic fields can also interact with cells. For example, exposure to radiofrequency waves can cause changes in the permeability of cell membranes, which can lead to the release of ions and molecules from cells. This can have several effects, including cell death, inflammation, and changes in gene expression.

Light frequencies: Light waves can also interact with cells. For example, exposure to ultraviolet light can cause damage to DNA, which can lead to cancer.

The effects of frequencies on cells can vary depending on the frequency, the intensity of the field, and the type of cell. In general, lower frequencies tend to have less of an effect on cells than higher frequencies. However, even low-frequency sound waves can significantly impact cells if they are applied for a long period.

The study of how frequencies impact cells is a rapidly growing field of research. Scientists are still learning about how frequencies can interact with cells and the potential implications for human health.

Here are some specific examples of how frequencies have been shown to impact cells:

Sound frequencies:

Low-frequency sound waves have been shown to increase the production of growth factors in cells, which can promote cell growth and differentiation.

High-frequency sound waves have been shown to kill cancer cells.

Electromagnetic frequencies:

Radiofrequency waves have been shown to cause changes in the permeability of cell membranes, which can lead to the release of ions and molecules from cells. This can have several effects, including cell death, inflammation, and changes in gene expression.

Microwaves have been shown to heat cells, damaging DNA and leading to cancer.

Light frequencies:

Ultraviolet light has been shown to cause damage to DNA, which can lead to cancer.

Visible light has been shown to promote wound healing and reduce inflammation.

It is important to note that the effects of frequencies on cells can be beneficial and harmful. More research is needed to understand the full range of effects of frequencies on cells and to develop safe and effective ways to use frequencies to promote health and healing.

Crystal Bowls

Crystal bowls can be tuned to specific frequencies, including the Solfeggio frequencies. The Solfeggio frequencies are a set of 9 musical tones that are said to have healing and spiritual benefits. When crystal bowls are tuned to these frequencies, they can create a sound bath that can help promote healing and well-being.

Crystal bowls are made from quartz crystal, which is a piezoelectric material. This means that when the bowls are struck or rubbed, they generate a specific sound frequency. This frequency can then be transferred to the body, where it is said to have several beneficial effects.

Some of the potential benefits of playing crystal bowls for health and wellness include:

Reduced stress and anxiety: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to relax the body and mind, reducing stress and anxiety.

Improved sleep: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to promote deep sleep.

Boosted mood: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to improve mood and reduce depression.

Pain relief: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to reduce pain, especially pain caused by tension or inflammation.

Enhanced creativity: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to stimulate creativity and imagination.

Promoted healing: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to promote healing on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

When crystal bowls are tuned to these frequencies, they can create a sound bath that can help to promote the healing and well-being associated with each frequency. For example, a crystal bowl tuned to 528 Hz can be used to create a sound bath that can help to promote love, transformation, and healing.

Using crystal bowls to create sound baths is a relatively new practice, but some scientific evidence supports its potential benefits. For example, one study found that sound baths can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Another study found that sound baths can help to improve sleep quality.

If you want crystal bowl therapy, it is important to find a qualified practitioner who can help you choose the right bowls and frequencies for your individual needs. You can also find many online resources that can teach you more about crystal bowl therapy and how to use it.

In conclusion, there is a growing body of evidence to suggest that sound and music can have a positive impact on our health and well-being. From reducing stress and anxiety to promoting healing and well-being, sound and music can be powerful tools for improving our overall health and quality of life.

If you are looking for a natural way to reduce stress, anxiety, or pain, or to promote healing and well-being, consider incorporating sound and music into your daily routine. You can listen to calming music, attend a sound bath, or use crystal bowls or other instruments to create your sound healing experience.

The next time you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a few minutes to listen to some calming music or sound. You may be surprised at how much better you feel.

What do you think? Is sound healing and frequencies something you think play a role in your life? Share your comments here or reach out directly in the chat.

Is the Power of Positive Thinking Real?

Is the Power of Positive Thinking Real? Well, what if I said maybe?  When we think about things today we often reflect on how we feel about the world in general. Are we happy? Do we have what we want?

Usually the answer is, I could be better.  I find myself doing that as well.  All around me I'm in a fact driven environment. At work we proudly proclaim we make fact based decisions. It goes without saying that with my love of science the facts are something I strongly strive for. The lifestyle I follow is a fact based lifestyle that is proved by the scientific evidence to be the best diet for over all health, wellbeing and longevity. I am solid in the fact based mindset.

So all that being said, I find myself in a spiritual place that can sometimes have little to no facts. I am a spiritual advisor, I provide intuitive readings for clients and fully believe in the force of spiritual healing through the sharing of energy from one person to the next.

I started on a change a month or so ago on cleaning up my language. I just wanted to not swear so much. I started tracking on a little dry erase board. A week or so later I started reading about the Toltecs and of course the book, The Four Agreements.  I ended up with a deep dive by reading 5 other books on the topic and several investigations on the author. Some claims that the book wasn't "real". It led me to think about all the places in my life where I tell myself to chin up, or say it will get better. Knowing this is a subconscious way of attempting to manifest a positive outcome to the current situation.

Immediately I remember my own thoughts, 10 years ago or so where when I saw all the "Light and Love" folks on Social Media, I was immediately skeptical.  We even called them "Fluffy Bunnies" or something like that. Is that me now?

My only answer is, perhaps. Do I think the author is on the up and up?  Is this positive thinking thing, real?

Again, my answer is perhaps. I think about all parts of my life and how facts rule the day. Yet, I play my bowls and I feel the energy coming from them and moving through my body. When I pull my cards I see the energy from the cards and can feel it move out to others. When I swear, when I'm grumpy and negative, I feel grumpy and negative.  When I stop swearing, when I stop waiting for others to like me; I feel better. I feel happy.

To me this is very similar to the mindfulness movement, where we stop worrying about the past or the future (impeccable words, don't make assumptions, don't take things personally) and be present here giving all your attention here (do your best). I have been a devotee of Hekate for quite a while as well as following the teaching of Thich Nhat Hanh so this is very familiar to the practices I already keep.
With Hecate I try to follow the five virtues.  With my mindfulness I try to remember that we all have suffering and do what I can to not cause suffering to any living being.

As I began researching this whole topic my mind immediately bounced back to my "fact based" mindset and what I heard often on Dr. Greger's presentations about WFPB living was something called the placebo effect. This is something that happens in a scientific trial where a particular item is being tested. They will split the test group into two and one group will not get the treatment being tested and the other group will.  The group without the treatment is called the control. There are times where members of the control group will begin to improve as though they are getting the treatment. This is the placebo effect. A patient thinks that they are getting better because they are doing the action and therefore they get better.

So if we get better.  Is it real?  To me this is where the facts may not always be exactly what they seem.  Looking at the results,  what does the evidence show. If our intent when we go about our day is to be happy not hurt anyone, and we achieve that goal isn't that a success?

I think we have to keep a logical thought process while we go through these types of self-help situations. We have to remember that we need to eat and have a place to live. We need to be mindful when it comes to our finances and our physical well being. We also can completely start each day on a positive note. With a positive affirmation.  We can be good to each other and do our best.  We can be polite and kind to each other and to animals.  We can be loving and caring and offer support without the expectation of reward. None of these things leads to harm and in most cases makes the giver "FEEL" happy.

To me, Yes, yes it does.

Paddles, Mallets & Bowls .... Oh My

This afternoon I decided to compare the two different striker/mallet/paddle that came with my crystal bowls.  One is a ball on a stick and the other is a tube that is covered in faux suede.

Rubber mallets are probably one of the most common mallets on the market. If used with frosted crystal singing bowls, the tone they produce is usually a strong, pure pulsing. They are usually rounded like a sphere, and are played by applying friction to the side of the bowl. They come in various colors however white is the most common. Due to the wooden handle, care has to be taken when playing to avoid a rather unpleasant sound.

Suede mallets bring their own unique texture to frosted crystal singing bowls, causing a subtle pink noise or hiss underneath the crystal singing bowl tone. The hiss is pretty noticeable and due to the shape of the mallet, it was tough to continuing playing for more than 5 minutes or so. I recorded two sessions one with each mallet so you can compare.

Here are two videos.

First, one with the round rubber ball paddles that I have used in other videos.

Second, this is my first session with these style.  They are hollow tubes wrapped in what appears to be a faux leather.

What did you think? Is one better than the other? I have my own opinions on this but will hold those to myself for now.  I'd love to hear your thoughts, feel free to comment or send me a private message.

After this warmup I went on to make a 14 minute video with the rubber mallets that I called Clarity.  The focus was on grounding, passion, healing and speaking my own truth for 2023.

I hope you enjoy.

Release

This week I wanted to share my latest video.  I've been concentrating on Heart, Sacral and Root recently. I really love the sounds of these three together.

Singing bowls have been around since the 1980s. There is some thoughts that maybe our ancestors worked with crystals and more recently science has shown that these crystals resonate a sound that has proved beneficial to human cells.

Singing bowls can be used for meditation and just a relationship to the sound waves has shown positive impact on the human body.

I have been working with the bowls, using the sound to help welcome relaxing and create a release in my body.  Excess energy seems to float away.

This session was extremely helpful for me.  Even the dog let out a little call to let me know he was enjoying the session.

I hope you enjoy.

My Latest Crystal Bowl Session

This weekend I'm focused on our torso. The chakra's we are working are directly are the sacral, solar plexus, heart and throat.  I played this healing session for Eli who has a lower lumbar fusion and some disc damage in his neck.

This tend to be a problem area for stress.

Feedback and comments welcome.

Lumbar Session

This was a pretty amazing session today. I wanted to share it.  This was a intention healing session for the lumbar area or back area.  It is recommended to listen to this with your headphones on and just allow your body to merge with the energy of the sounds being played.

Apologies for the road noise, I'm working on a better place to record.

Feel free to leave feedback.

Sound Therapy - Bowl Identification

I was asked recently if the bowls stood for something.  I wanted to create a short video with that description as well as a little bit of alignment.

Red - Root Chakra - Red Rimmed Bowl

Orange - Sacral Chakra - Orange Rimmed Bowl

Yellow - Solar Plexus Chakra - Yellow Rimmed Bowl

Green - Heart Chakra - Green Rimmed Bowl

Blue - Throat Chakra - Blue Rimmed Bowl

Indigo - Third Eye Chakra - Indigo Rimmed Bowl

Violet - Crown Chakra - Violet Rimmed Bowl

I'll be working on adding a little more focus and control as well as taking requests for specific chakras.

These are best enjoyed with a set of headphones, deep breath relaxation and allowing the energy to combine with yours.

I hope you enjoy.
Blessings

Sound Therapy - What's Next?

Welcome to Part III of my journey into sound therapy. Sound has been a healing source for centuries. From wind chimes to healing baths, we use music, sound and even noise to create a feeling.

How does sound do this? What does sound do?  Let's look at this video that explains some of the ways sound waves act.

Let's take a look at some of the sound tools out there.  Click play on each video and then with a note pad, jot down what each makes you feel.

We'll start with Koshi Chimes. These are elemental chimes and each one is for the four elements. Earth, Air, Fire and Water and are thought to release stress, relieve anxiety and help with insomnia.

Next let's look at a video on a Nepal Singing Bowl Demonstration. These sessions are said to treat back and knee problems, pain, depression, stress, migraines and eyestrain and also for meditation and charging water.

What do you think?  Does sound heal?  How about grow food?  Maybe change the way water molecules react when frozen? We know that it is capable of all those things and so much more.

Now what about the negative effects of sound.  Let's talk about what can happen when sound is use not for healing, but for control or negative purposes.

In World War II, during the German siege of the Soviet city of Stalingrad in 1942, Soviet troops kept German forces awake at night by playing Argentine tangos through loudspeakers. In Vietnam, U.S. forces turned sound into psychological warfare. And we are all aware of the event in Waco Texas where the Branch Davidians were holdup in a compound and stayed for days while the federal government bombarded the area with sound to make them surrender. And of course we all know about the fall of Jericho from the Old Testament in the Christian Bible.

The story goes, that the Israelites marched on Jericho for six days and on the seventh day, they blew their trumpets and the walls fell.

The video below explains how in 1957, by accident, Dr. Vladimir Gavreau and his research team discovered that sound could also become a very deadly weapon.  Gavreau's team was working on robotics research, when they all became very ill.  After an investigation, it was discovered that there was an improperly installed ventilator motor in their building, that when coupled with a long airshaft, that acted like an organ pipe, had created an inaudible 7 Hz tone.

Let's change directions and move back into the positive with this piece. The 440hz frequency is said to ease the mind, improve sleep and create a sense of calm.  I play these while I'm sleeping at night.

Sound is a powerful tool that can be used for both positive and negative.  It is on the users to decide the best way to proceed in this area.  For me, I relate to nails on a chalkboard as a negative and the beautiful sound of windchimes as the positive. I am looking forward to my journey as a sound healer. I am confident that as long as we as a society look to improve the lives of those around us, we'll always be on the right path, with the right action.

Healing Sounds - DNA Repair

Sharing our first recording with the new audio.

This track is best over headphones. Take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and allow the energy of the tones to join with your own.

Sound Therapy - Does It Work?

Welcome to part 2 of my Sound Therapy series.  Today we'll talk about the effectiveness of sound therapy. Does it work? What can we do to help it work better as sound healers and what do we need from our clients.

As we go through our healing process sometimes we'll post our progress on social media and we get comments from those who say, "Does this actually work?"

Sound therapy uses certain instruments, recorded sound or music to combined with meditation to relief stress, focus healing and improve over all body wellness. As sound passes through our bodies, the vibration of that sound or the resonance can change the structure of DNA molecules. These vibrations encourage healing and over all wellness. Singing bowls, rain sticks, drums and tuning forks are examples of some of the tools that sound healers may use to help guide their clients into a meditative state that allows the body to work to heal.

As a result of this process some clients may experience a sudden feeling of relief as though a huge weight has been lifted from their bodies. Others may have cold symptoms or may even experience a headache or be thirsty after a session.

Some providers will offer their clients a sound bath. This is an immersive experience where the client is usually in a prone position on a mat or blanket resting comfortably.  The healer will direct the client to clear their mind as the work begins. Most focus on Chakra alignment.  This is where the Chakras, the energy points (wheels) in the body are encouraged to cleanse and realign allowing the client to become refreshed, and reenergized. Sound baths are usually in person but one can experience the same thing from the use of recorded music or conference call style sessions.

Sooner or later, you'll find someone who wants to tell you that this is just new age babble and has no place in science. I want to share a video from Stamford University Medical where they are using sound therapy to treat Parkinson's Disease.

This is a single video, but there are more out there that show the changes in disorders such as bipolar, anxiety, depression, pain relief, and much much more. We have to ask ourselves what can impact the results of using sound therapy.  One of the most common is the subjects ability to participate. This isn't like setting a broken bone.  The client must be willing to participate fully in the treatment. When that occurs, access the inner energy to create a place where health, happiness and wellness resides is something that anyone can achieve.

Remember working with sound is not new. From Pythagoras to Stamford University, the greatest minds are working to reveal exactly how this amazing process works in our bodies.  We have within us the power to help our bodies heal. Beginning with a healthy diet, working with the right path, meditation and right thought all guide us to a place where we can be where we are right now and be in happiness, pain-free and surrounded by the healing energy of sound.

Blessings,

Sosanna

Sound Therapy - Childhood & Science

Sound therapy has been around for decades.  I began working with sound for soothing while I was a teenager. I found an old cassette tape next to the road while walking to the store.  Our family was very poor and I did not have these types of things available to me on a daily basis.  The tape was pulled out of the cassette and looked to have been tossed from a car window.

I took that tape and wound it back together and was able to lay in my bed at night with an old cassette player under my pillow and played the tape over and over. I learned every word of the song, and used it to keep me safe in a home where there was no safety or sense of self.

Even earlier than that, as a small child, my parents would send me down to my grandmother's house to get this or that. It was a long dark dirt path to their house.  Fields of corn on each side, gently rustling in the breeze. The sounds brought visions of monsters walking in the corn while I made my way down the road.  I used to sing songs to the corn and to the energy around it to keep me safe.  I attribute my safe arrival to Charlie Pride and his song, the Snakes Crawl at Night.  This was a child's belief that when things were at play, they were not dangerous.

Moving forward, my love for music and the sense of protection it provided to me was instrumental in my desire to learn music. And is of course why I have a plethora of instruments in my home today.  My love of music is only outweighed by my equal love of science. I recall wanting to be a scientist throughout many parts of my childhood. I always wanted to know why and frequently took things apart to see how they worked.

Sound has been used to heal for centuries in human society. We know that many tribal cultures connected the sound of the drum to the heartbeat of the earth and it was used in ceremonies for dance and pleasure as well as in ritual healing, cleansing as well as the welcoming of new life and departing of those who passed.

When looking into those who have studied this field, even though this thought process is as old as we are the official study of it is relatively new. Even on YouTube there are those who will go into detail to explain the exact science around this practice.

One way to visualize sound healing is to look at sand bouncing on a metal plate next to a speaker. Or watch the ripples in water, when sound is played into it.  We, being over 70% water react much in the same way but on a cellular level.  Dr. Emoto, a leading scientist in this field demonstrated the effects of playing sound (positive/negative) on water and then freezing it, led to some remarkable findings.

This fascinates me. As I move forward on my sound journey, I am finding so much in this that resonates (pun intended) with me. I hope you are too.

Generally I like to start out with a disclaimer. I am an contemporary witch.  I look for the connection between magic and science without the need to search for a creator. I receive no compensation for these reviews and all my links are standard Amazon links and not affiliate links. I am a practicing photo reader and have spent the last 16 years honing my craft.  I offer personal readings by request and have a strong online history that boasts nearly 400,000 views.

As usual, I'll start with a review of the physical book.  This is a small book, with a soft cover and is a great size to toss in a bag or keep in your car.  I generally don't like soft covers but as I sat down and started reading this one, I could feel my hands want to roll the cover back and hold it in my hands as one would embrace a dime romance novel.  The ease of the cover actually added a great deal of comfort to the book and I believe it was an enhancement over what a hard cover book may have delivered.  There are no images in this book. Again, something that usually I frown upon. In this case I was able to set aside that affinity and take some time to emerge myself into the author's words.  I found that I didn't miss the images and in fact quite the contrary. I believe the lack of images actually requires the reader to stay present and full digest the information presented.  The book has a decent size index and makes locating exact "moments" for future use quick and easy.

This book is loaded with over 200 five minute exercises to help bring you to bliss. In the introduction the author explains to us that bliss, is that moment of inner joy, happiness and peace. In our fast paced world so few of us take the time to bring bliss back into our lives.  As I sat and read through page after page of suggestions for bringing it back, I found myself suddenly at ease.  The feel of the book added to the experience and the author's "voice" came through the text like an old friend reminding me to take a moment to smell the roses.  The book is divided into to four sections, giving bliss for the mind, the body, the relationship and surroundings.  I was so taken with all the amazing suggestions in this book, I decided my review would be taking one of the many exercises that spoke to me and share that with my readers.

In the section called, Experience Bliss in Your Surroundings on page 218, the author tells us to take a moment to dig out some old photo albums. As we grow, she says, we tend to forget what we were. We forget how much we've changed over the years.  Taking out that old album gives us the opportunity to look at how far we've come and how much we have changed over the years.  She recommends pulling out those grade school and high school photos and think about where we were at the moment of the photo. The final instruction is to take a picture of yourself right now and add it to the collection. Looking back on our life and appreciating where were are and how far we have come.

I have changed so much over the years.  As a child feeling abandoned by family and plagued by abuse, it was so apparent in my eyes. That small child sitting there, feeling sad and alone. I grew up strong but sad.  I worked so hard to become what I thought others wanted me to be. I wore the clothes they asked me to wear, I spoke only when spoken to. My youth cut short, by motherhood and all the pain and joy that accompanies that. Finally my life actually beginning as I met my soul mate and we continued our life together as one. The ebb and flow of life, bringing me in and out of mindfulness, making it more and more difficult to stay present.  The pain in my body as I struggled with type two diabetes looming over my shoulder while I stood gasping for air as I walked.  And today, healthier and happier than I have ever been in my entire life. The world is there for my taking and I now am the master of my own destiny.

This book encouraged me to open the door to the past and look at how much I have changed over the years. It brought back so many memories and helped me see just how successfully I have navigated this thing called life.  Overall, I think this is a great book to have on the shelf, in the car or on your desk; to pick up and just read over some of these exercises.  I think that this would make a fantastic house warming gift, a graduation gift or anniversary. Not my typical book to review but I'm thrilled with the results and very happy that I took the time to review it.

I am a practicing photo reader and have spent the last 16 years honing my craft.  I offer personal readings by request and have a strong online history that boasts nearly 400,000 views.

As with all my reviews I'll start with a review of the physical book.  It is a small book, in that it can easily fit into a backpack or purse for reading on the go.  I received a hard copy w/o a dust jacket to review. The outside is smooth and has color images of the author on the back as well as two large crystal compass on the front and back inner cover. The index is very small. Only two pages provided, both front and back one for the Symptoms Index and one for the Results Index.

The introduction is quite lengthy and the author gives us her background on using crystals and the history of the crystal compass.  I enjoyed the section on how crystals work and their relationship to using their elemental qualities for wholeness.  This fits directly into several certifications I recently completed related to crystal healing.  This compass is a great way to bring those elements together in one place for ease of use and clarity.

This book limits illustrations but the text is well written and easy to read.  The book contains a plethora of information and each chapter expands on the next in a linear but expansive thinking mindset.  The chapter on using crystals takes us through cleansing and creating a sacred space as well as defining earth, water, fire and air crystals and how each should be cleansed.  The energy exercises included are extremely helpful and I highly recommend taking the time to complete each in these initial chapters.

The remaining chapters of the book are separated by elements. Each chapter defines the area of life, symptoms of imbalances, how to nourish the physical energy body as well as exercises to "check in" on your current vibration state.  It is then followed by a chapter on that particular element's crystals and what they work with.

The author tells us that the earth crystal related to earth is Jade.  It is for good health and vitality.  I won't give away all the tips on it but I will say that each chapter on the elemental crystals provide the original source location, history of the crystal as well as the qualities, what its good for, issues and a mantra in a quick reference section at the each of each description.

One of my favorites was the section on the Air Crystal - Purple Fluorite -  the qualities are mental clarity, psychic clarity, order and harmony.  Its good for clearing energy fields and problem solving.  It will help with confusion, or poor concentration.  The mantra provided is amazing.

I am clear, I think clearly, I see clearly, I perceive clearly, and I make my decision.

Overall what I approached as "Just another crystal book" actually turned into something that I will refer to time and time again.  The author provides a great introduction as a beginner book, but then challenges the reader to rethink some of the old jargon around crystal healing and crystal work. This is a fantastic addition to any metaphysical or crystal healing library.
