Healing Frequencies

Solfeggio frequencies are a set of 9 specific musical tones that are said to have healing and spiritual benefits. They are based on the ancient Western musical scale but differ from the notes we use today. The Solfeggio frequencies are:

174 Hz: Liberating Guilt and Fear

285 Hz: Healing Tissue and Organs

396 Hz: Releasing Negative Emotions

417 Hz: Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change

528 Hz: Transformation and Miracles

639 Hz: Connecting Relationships

741 Hz: Awakening Intuition

852 Hz: Returning to Spiritual Order

963 Hz: Divine Consciousness or Enlightenment

The theory behind Solfeggio frequencies is that they can resonate with our bodies and minds, helping heal us physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Sound frequencies: Sound waves can cause cells to vibrate, leading to changes in their structure and function. For example, studies have shown that exposure to low-frequency sound waves can increase the production of growth factors in cells, which can promote cell growth and differentiation.

Electromagnetic frequencies: Electromagnetic fields can also interact with cells. For example, exposure to radiofrequency waves can cause changes in the permeability of cell membranes, which can lead to the release of ions and molecules from cells. This can have several effects, including cell death, inflammation, and changes in gene expression.

Light frequencies: Light waves can also interact with cells. For example, exposure to ultraviolet light can cause damage to DNA, which can lead to cancer.

The effects of frequencies on cells can vary depending on the frequency, the intensity of the field, and the type of cell. In general, lower frequencies tend to have less of an effect on cells than higher frequencies. However, even low-frequency sound waves can significantly impact cells if they are applied for a long period.

The study of how frequencies impact cells is a rapidly growing field of research. Scientists are still learning about how frequencies can interact with cells and the potential implications for human health.

Here are some specific examples of how frequencies have been shown to impact cells:

Sound frequencies:

Low-frequency sound waves have been shown to increase the production of growth factors in cells, which can promote cell growth and differentiation.

High-frequency sound waves have been shown to kill cancer cells.

Electromagnetic frequencies:

Radiofrequency waves have been shown to cause changes in the permeability of cell membranes, which can lead to the release of ions and molecules from cells. This can have several effects, including cell death, inflammation, and changes in gene expression.

Microwaves have been shown to heat cells, damaging DNA and leading to cancer.

Light frequencies:

Ultraviolet light has been shown to cause damage to DNA, which can lead to cancer.

Visible light has been shown to promote wound healing and reduce inflammation.

It is important to note that the effects of frequencies on cells can be beneficial and harmful. More research is needed to understand the full range of effects of frequencies on cells and to develop safe and effective ways to use frequencies to promote health and healing.

Crystal Bowls

Crystal bowls can be tuned to specific frequencies, including the Solfeggio frequencies. The Solfeggio frequencies are a set of 9 musical tones that are said to have healing and spiritual benefits. When crystal bowls are tuned to these frequencies, they can create a sound bath that can help promote healing and well-being.

Crystal bowls are made from quartz crystal, which is a piezoelectric material. This means that when the bowls are struck or rubbed, they generate a specific sound frequency. This frequency can then be transferred to the body, where it is said to have several beneficial effects.

Some of the potential benefits of playing crystal bowls for health and wellness include:

Reduced stress and anxiety: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to relax the body and mind, reducing stress and anxiety.

Improved sleep: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to promote deep sleep.

Boosted mood: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to improve mood and reduce depression.

Pain relief: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to reduce pain, especially pain caused by tension or inflammation.

Enhanced creativity: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to stimulate creativity and imagination.

Promoted healing: The sound waves from crystal bowls can help to promote healing on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

When crystal bowls are tuned to these frequencies, they can create a sound bath that can help to promote the healing and well-being associated with each frequency. For example, a crystal bowl tuned to 528 Hz can be used to create a sound bath that can help to promote love, transformation, and healing.

Using crystal bowls to create sound baths is a relatively new practice, but some scientific evidence supports its potential benefits. For example, one study found that sound baths can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Another study found that sound baths can help to improve sleep quality.

If you want crystal bowl therapy, it is important to find a qualified practitioner who can help you choose the right bowls and frequencies for your individual needs. You can also find many online resources that can teach you more about crystal bowl therapy and how to use it.

In conclusion, there is a growing body of evidence to suggest that sound and music can have a positive impact on our health and well-being. From reducing stress and anxiety to promoting healing and well-being, sound and music can be powerful tools for improving our overall health and quality of life.

If you are looking for a natural way to reduce stress, anxiety, or pain, or to promote healing and well-being, consider incorporating sound and music into your daily routine. You can listen to calming music, attend a sound bath, or use crystal bowls or other instruments to create your sound healing experience.

The next time you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a few minutes to listen to some calming music or sound. You may be surprised at how much better you feel.

What do you think? Is sound healing and frequencies something you think play a role in your life? Share your comments here or reach out directly in the chat.

Paddles, Mallets & Bowls .... Oh My

This afternoon I decided to compare the two different striker/mallet/paddle that came with my crystal bowls.  One is a ball on a stick and the other is a tube that is covered in faux suede.

Rubber mallets are probably one of the most common mallets on the market. If used with frosted crystal singing bowls, the tone they produce is usually a strong, pure pulsing. They are usually rounded like a sphere, and are played by applying friction to the side of the bowl. They come in various colors however white is the most common. Due to the wooden handle, care has to be taken when playing to avoid a rather unpleasant sound.

Suede mallets bring their own unique texture to frosted crystal singing bowls, causing a subtle pink noise or hiss underneath the crystal singing bowl tone. The hiss is pretty noticeable and due to the shape of the mallet, it was tough to continuing playing for more than 5 minutes or so. I recorded two sessions one with each mallet so you can compare.

Here are two videos.

First, one with the round rubber ball paddles that I have used in other videos.

Second, this is my first session with these style.  They are hollow tubes wrapped in what appears to be a faux leather.

What did you think? Is one better than the other? I have my own opinions on this but will hold those to myself for now.  I'd love to hear your thoughts, feel free to comment or send me a private message.

After this warmup I went on to make a 14 minute video with the rubber mallets that I called Clarity.  The focus was on grounding, passion, healing and speaking my own truth for 2023.

I hope you enjoy.

What Bad Can Happen with Sound Healing?

Some people are sensitive to crystal bowls frequency or sound healing.  There are some physical impacts to participating in a healing session.  You can experience nasal drip, headaches, anxiety and even depression, depending on how you respond to the healing session.

Certain medical conditions should take care when attending healing sessions.

An example of those are:

  • Beginners: Start out with slow 5-minute sessions until you see how the singing bowls affect you.
  • Epilepsy: Singing bowls may trigger seizures. People with epilepsy should generally avoid singing bowls.
  • Metal implants: Avoid singing bowls if you have metal devices in your body, such as a pacemaker, coronary shunt, artificial heart valves, or metal pins or staples. The vibration of the singing bowl sound could possibly move the metal inside you, causing injury or malfunction of the device.
  • Bodily conditions: Avoid placing singing bowls directly on or near tumors, implants, screws, or artificial joints.
  • Mental health: Singing bowls often elicit deep memories, emotion, and thoughts. If you are diagnosed with a mental disorder like PTSD, anxiety, or depression, be sure to work with your doctor or therapist to make sure you can manage the thoughts and feelings that might arise.
  • Skin conditions: If you have an inflammatory skin condition like psoriasis, eczema, or hives, practitioners recommend not placing bowls on your body since they could aggravate the skin condition.
  • Pregnancy: In general, avoid singing bowls during pregnancy. If your doctor approves, you might try short sessions, but make sure the bowls are away from your belly and back.
  • Children: Be careful to monitor your child’s use of a singing bowl. Use incorrectly, it can damage hearing.
  • Surgery. After surgery, wait to place singing bowls on your body until sutures are removed and your skin is fully healed.

Sound healing is a wonderful tool to move forward through spiritual healing, emotional healing and chakra alignment. One thing to keep in mind is that in order to have the best experience is to be sure to share any information with the your sound healer.  You healer should ask you about your health, your current emotional status and your readiness to accept healing.

You can only get what you give in this instance. Be ready to accept the healing in order to have the best experience with your healing professional.

Book Cover

Just as I start all my reviews this one starts out with the actual quality of the book itself. The copy I was sent is a hard cover book with a mat cover finish. It has a fabric feel and actually feels good in the hands. I was reminded of the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" when I looked inside this book.  The cover is not very flashy. I hope that when this it out for sale, it has a dust jacket or something that will give the buyer a sense of how fabulous the photos are inside.

I was blown away at the quality of the images inside. The cover tricked me into thinking this would be something bland and simple. But to the contrary, I was astounded at most of the images.

The Labradorite and the Reticulated Quartz are amazing.  They look as though you could just pick them up right off the page.

The book is a nice size for tossing in a tote bag, or backpack for easy reference. I also like that the pages are glossy. This gives it a good feel in the hands. I really like the spine alignment and the page edges. Excellent printing and binding on this one.

The author begins the book with an introduction to crystals in general with sections on how to find the right ones and attunement. I think this is missing is a great many crystal books and I'm really surprised at times when I read about them being tossed in a bag or left in a window for a long period of time without any information on recharging, cleansing or draining processes.

The crystal information begins on page 16 and is the bulk of the book.  Each crystal has a large full page photo and basic descriptions provided as well as info under the headings of "Heal, Transform and Realize" This book contains some of the more well known crystals, such as Amber and Amethyst and some that I had not heard of like Shiva Lingam. The Stibnite and Sugilite photos are amazing. I cannot get over the absolute stunning quality of the images in this book.

The back of the book contains a section about the author, a glossary and an index which, in my humble opinion, makes a book extremely useful as reference material. While the crystals are listed in alphabetical order, the index opens up the content to include pages based on historical figures like Alexander the Great to illness such as diabetes and cancer. This allows the reader to truly leverage the the content from all sorts of perspectives without having to the exact name of the crystal being sought.

Over all this is a really great book to have in any collection and I can see it being a reference for me in my work with crystals for my jewelry.

Special thanks to Fair Winds Press for providing me with this copy to review.

Wands on Wednesday

So last month I got a dremel!  I am really excited about all the wonderful things I can make with it.  One thing that I can now do is sand my wands a bit quicker.  I tend to make very simple wands.  I like to see and feel the wood.  Some prefer ones a bit more fru fru.  Wands are like hair color.  Everyone has a shade or style they like best.

To make a wand you'll just need to collect items you like.  Some stay way from an Elder wand because some believe it is sacred to the Goddess.  With all the different Gods and Goddesses out there I'm sure you can find a type of wood you like.  I try to use wood that I collect myself.  I have lots of trees on the Sanctuary property so I have lots of choices.  I recently planted a willow tree.  I'm excited for it to mature to see what I can get from it.

I wanted to share a few wands with you that hubby and I finished up this week.  Again, these are just some wands that we made here.  Your wands will vary based on style, decoration and dedication.

I start by selected the best pieces from the pile I collected.

Sometimes I have help with my selections.

Next, I remove the bark.  I did this with a pocket knife before.

But now I have my dremel!

Next we decorate.  We put crystals on the ends or in the middle depending on the look and feel.

Now let's look at the finished wands.  Before we talk about the decorated wands, these are a few that I made that are perfectly simple. Remember, these are magical working tools.   Sometimes jingly jangly things can get in the way of magic.

The first is Water Maple, the second Black Walnut and the third is Pecan.

This first wand is made of fig.  It has a quartz crystal on one end and a kyanite point on the other.  The ends are covered with red and black rawhide and purple feathers with small bells.  This one was created while Hubby was listening to Shamanic Journeys.  He applied the rawhide and feathers with focused positive healing energy.  This one turned out really well.

The next wand is made from Eastern Red Bud.  I have a huge, and I mean huge one in front of our house.  In the spring it fills with these tiny little purple flowers and the bees go crazy.  You can hear the entire bush buzzing almost all day.  The tips of this wand have black rawhide around them.  One point is a quartz crystal and the other is a citrine crystal.  In the center of this one we did an inlay with a couple of stones.  We added moss agate, amethyst and petrified wood.  Of the ones we created with decorations, I really love this one.

The next one we did is also Eastern Red Bud but this time we added a pure Arizona Turquoise to one of the tips offset by a stunning quartz at the other end.  We wrapped both ends with black rawhide and added some wood beads that hold on some brown hen feathers.  The features are collected from my hens here on the property.  When I go collect the eggs, sometimes I find feathers on the ground and in the nests.  I like to use them when I can.  They added the final touches to this wonderful wand.

Remember wands are very personal item.  They can be made of whatever you want them to be.  They can even be made from wood and hot glue.

Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot make your own wands.  I believe some of the best items on my altar are items I created with my own hands.  It has to speak to you.  Be it from your own creation or from the creation of someone else.

Blessings
