The 3 Spiritual Tools I Use Every Day(and Why You Probably Don’t Need 30 Crystals)

We’ve all seen the endless lists: 21 must-have herbs, 44 moon tools, 78 altar items you have to collect.

Let’s be honest — half of it ends up in a drawer.

Here’s the truth: you don’t need a closet full of supplies to be powerful. You need a few anchoring tools that resonate with you. That support you. That help you show up consistently and with intention.

Here are the three spiritual tools I reach for every single day — and why they work:

1. 🃏 Oracle Cards

There’s no better mirror than the cards. A daily pull sets the tone, reveals what’s stirring beneath the surface, and invites real reflection.

Oracle cards are more than paper and ink — they’re conversation starters with your spirit, your guides, your intuition. They don’t predict the future. They reveal the present. And that’s where real magic begins.

I pull a card every morning — sometimes just one, sometimes a spread — and it’s like checking the weather for my soul. What energy am I walking into? What lesson is trying to get my attention? What part of me needs care?

Here’s why I use them daily:

  1. They ground my practice. Even when I have five minutes, one card is enough to spark reflection or guide intention.

  2. They speak clearly. Both of my decks — the Crossroads Oracle and the River Witch Oracle — are designed with real, lived energy. No filler cards. Just messages that hit.

  3. They evolve with you. You’ll see different things in the same card depending on your mood, your questions, or even the season. That’s not inconsistency — that’s growth.

My Crossroads Oracle is inspired by Hecate and the choices, energies, and mysteries we encounter on the spiritual path. It’s divided into suits like Virtues, Elements, Energies, and Time — making it perfect for spreads that give depth and direction.

My River Witch Oracle connects to nature, emotion, and flow. It’s rooted in personal healing and movement through change — a favorite for shadow work, emotional insight, and creative guidance.

These aren’t mass-produced, algorithm-made cards. They’re handcrafted wisdom tools, drawn from devotion, experience, and ancestral magic — and they’re meant to become part of your practice, your altar, your story.

My Crossroads Oracle and River Witch Oracle were created to do exactly that.

They’re exclusive to my shop and designed with real-world wisdom, not just pretty art.

2. 📘 Digital Grimoires & eBooks

I keep a digital library of rituals, spells, correspondences, and guided meditations I’ve written over the years. These are living documents — I update them, annotate them, and pull from them constantly.

Want to start your own? Grab one of my ready-to-use eBooks and build from there.

There’s something undeniably magical about holding a leather-bound book… but let’s be real — when you’re in the middle of a spell, a ritual, or an emotional spiral, you need something you can actually use.

That’s where eBooks come in — and why I offer a wide selection of practical, immediately usable digital books crafted for witches, empaths, and spiritual seekers just like you.

Here’s why I use eBooks in my own practice — and why you might want to, too:

✨ Instant Access to Magic

Whether you’re mid-meltdown or mid-moon ritual, you don’t want to wait three days for delivery. My eBooks are available immediately upon purchase, so you can light that candle, open your grimoire, and get to work — now.

✨ Always with You

Print books are beautiful, but they stay on the shelf. E-books go where you go.

  • Access them on your phone, tablet, or laptop

  • Bookmark your favorite spells, meditations, or correspondences

  • Keep them in a private folder if you're not out-of-the-broom-closet yet

Your magic shouldn’t be limited by your bookshelf.

✨ Designed for Practice, Not Just Reading

These aren’t just rebranded blog posts in PDF form. Each eBook is crafted as a tool — with layouts and language designed to help you work through real-life spiritual challenges.

Whether it’s:

  • Shadow work

  • Moon rituals

  • Hecate devotionals

  • Chakra healing

  • Empath protection

  • Everyday magic for neurodivergent witches

...you’ll find something in my catalog that speaks to exactly where you are, right now.

  • No trees harmed

  • No shipping costs

  • No shelf space needed

Digital books are a great option if you're simplifying your life, living in a small space, or just want a low-clutter spiritual practice. And if you do want a physical version, you can always print out your favorite sections and build a binder or ritual journal of your own — totally custom, totally you.

A Book Is Good. A Book That Grows with You? That’s Magic.

Whether you’re brand-new to the path or refining your daily ritual, my eBooks are designed to walk with you, not lecture you. You can come back to them again and again — and every time, you’ll see something new, because you will be new.

3. 🎓 Self-Paced Classes

Whether I’m re-centering with meditation or exploring deeper ritual work, I always turn to structure when I feel scattered. That’s where my courses come in — they give me something to focus on, a new layer of practice, or a return to basics when life gets chaotic.

Let’s be real: not everyone can attend a live class at 7 p.m. on a Thursday under a full moon while Mercury is direct. Life doesn’t always work that way — and neither should your spiritual growth.

That’s why I created a full library of self-paced classes designed to meet you exactly where you are. No fluff, no forced schedules, no judgment. Just deep, honest teaching rooted in lived experience and real spiritual work.

🔥 What Makes These Classes Different?

My courses aren’t just rehashed slides and surface-level lessons. They’re built around transformation — and designed to help you move from “I don’t know where to start” to “This feels like home.”

You’ll find courses on:

  • Witchcraft 101 – Foundations for a grounded magical practice

  • Healing the Inner Child – Gentle shadow work through a spiritual lens

  • Working with Hecate – Devotional practices, crossroads wisdom, and path-opening rituals

  • Empath Empowerment – Protection, boundaries, and reclaiming your energy

Each class includes:

  • Downloadable content (PDFs, workbooks, meditations)

  • Rituals and exercises you can start immediately

  • Video/audio components when available

  • Lifetime access — revisit them anytime you need a refresh

✨ Why Self-Paced?

  • Because your magic unfolds on your timeline

  • You can go slow or dive deep

  • You can pause when life gets loud

  • You can skip what doesn’t resonate and focus on what hits your soul

This isn’t about checking boxes — it’s about building something that lasts. Your spiritual practice should work with your life, not against it.

Magic Doesn’t Belong on a Schedule — It Belongs to You.

Whether you’re reclaiming your power, healing from spiritual burnout, or just starting to explore your gifts, these classes are here to walk beside you.

They’re tools for growth, not boxes to tick.

Start with what feels good. Keep what keeps you grounded. Release the rest.

And if your daily magic includes a cup of tea and staring out the window — those counts.

🃏 Today’s Card Pull: Past

This card is a gentle tap on the shoulder: What did your practice used to look like? What beliefs, tools, or habits have you carried forward — and are they still serving you?

You don’t have to recreate your past. But you do get to honor it, and choose what continues.

Let it be a guide — not a prison.

Next week we’re diving into Lunar Magic and Manifestation, starting with a new moon ritual that clears the static and makes space for what you actually want.

And remember — every eBook, class, or deck you purchase helps stock the Blessing Box of Goldsboro, a community care project placing food and essentials at local crossroads.

Let wisdom, new beginnings, and creative expression shape your day.

Have a glorious day.

Generally I like to start out with a disclaimer. I am an contemporary witch.  I look for the connection between magic and science without the need to search for a creator. I receive no compensation for these reviews and all my links are standard Amazon links and not affiliate links. I am a practicing photo reader and have spent the last 16 years honing my craft.  I offer personal readings by request and have a strong online history that boasts nearly 400,000 views.

As usual, I'll start with a review of the physical book.  This is a small book, with a soft cover and is a great size to toss in a bag or keep in your car.  I generally don't like soft covers but as I sat down and started reading this one, I could feel my hands want to roll the cover back and hold it in my hands as one would embrace a dime romance novel.  The ease of the cover actually added a great deal of comfort to the book and I believe it was an enhancement over what a hard cover book may have delivered.  There are no images in this book. Again, something that usually I frown upon. In this case I was able to set aside that affinity and take some time to emerge myself into the author's words.  I found that I didn't miss the images and in fact quite the contrary. I believe the lack of images actually requires the reader to stay present and full digest the information presented.  The book has a decent size index and makes locating exact "moments" for future use quick and easy.

This book is loaded with over 200 five minute exercises to help bring you to bliss. In the introduction the author explains to us that bliss, is that moment of inner joy, happiness and peace. In our fast paced world so few of us take the time to bring bliss back into our lives.  As I sat and read through page after page of suggestions for bringing it back, I found myself suddenly at ease.  The feel of the book added to the experience and the author's "voice" came through the text like an old friend reminding me to take a moment to smell the roses.  The book is divided into to four sections, giving bliss for the mind, the body, the relationship and surroundings.  I was so taken with all the amazing suggestions in this book, I decided my review would be taking one of the many exercises that spoke to me and share that with my readers.

In the section called, Experience Bliss in Your Surroundings on page 218, the author tells us to take a moment to dig out some old photo albums. As we grow, she says, we tend to forget what we were. We forget how much we've changed over the years.  Taking out that old album gives us the opportunity to look at how far we've come and how much we have changed over the years.  She recommends pulling out those grade school and high school photos and think about where we were at the moment of the photo. The final instruction is to take a picture of yourself right now and add it to the collection. Looking back on our life and appreciating where were are and how far we have come.

I have changed so much over the years.  As a child feeling abandoned by family and plagued by abuse, it was so apparent in my eyes. That small child sitting there, feeling sad and alone. I grew up strong but sad.  I worked so hard to become what I thought others wanted me to be. I wore the clothes they asked me to wear, I spoke only when spoken to. My youth cut short, by motherhood and all the pain and joy that accompanies that. Finally my life actually beginning as I met my soul mate and we continued our life together as one. The ebb and flow of life, bringing me in and out of mindfulness, making it more and more difficult to stay present.  The pain in my body as I struggled with type two diabetes looming over my shoulder while I stood gasping for air as I walked.  And today, healthier and happier than I have ever been in my entire life. The world is there for my taking and I now am the master of my own destiny.

This book encouraged me to open the door to the past and look at how much I have changed over the years. It brought back so many memories and helped me see just how successfully I have navigated this thing called life.  Overall, I think this is a great book to have on the shelf, in the car or on your desk; to pick up and just read over some of these exercises.  I think that this would make a fantastic house warming gift, a graduation gift or anniversary. Not my typical book to review but I'm thrilled with the results and very happy that I took the time to review it.

Witchy Wednesday - So You Want to be a Witch...

One of the things that struck me when I first started exploring Paganism and Witchcraft was the number of books telling me what I should and shouldn't do in order to be a witch. There were books that said I could only be a witch if my mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were all witches, meaning a hereditary witch. There were books that said that I could only be a witch if I were to be initiated into a specific tradition and followed that tradition through the ranks eventually leading to priestess.  Everyone has their own idea about what I need to do in order to connect with my spirituality. They have rules and guidelines and if I don't follow them I'll surely miss out on the big... wait a second, that sounds and awful lot like organized religion.  Well yea, you see now don't you?

We have so many paths that fall under (even if it is just beneath the brim) of the Paganism Umbrella. While many shun the name Pagan, we have to remember that the word is intended to encompass all religions outside the three main Abrahamic Religions.  Those are Christianity, Judaism & Islam. That is how I am defining Pagans.

Screenshot - Wikipedia

While I am the first to proclaim that reading is one of the first major steps to following any path, there are some books out there that you should avoid like the plague. Each person has their own point of view about what a "real pagan leader" is.  Let me be clear on one thing.  An author is not a leader. They are a person who has the cash to have a book printed.  They are a person with an opinion that posts on a blog (like this one) or a website or in an e-book.  They put their pants on the same way you do every day. Any person who says they have the only way or the one true way to do anything at all should be taken with a grain of salt. I call your attention to a certain witch who told her teen readers to keep their practices secret from their parents. Many in the magical community openly criticized her comments and openly shunned her.

Pagan Elders are few and far between. There are authors out there with great things to say and I will recommend their books every single day. That being said you as an individual must seek out personal information on that author and make sure you agree with their path and want that energy in your ritual space before filling your shelves with (enter pompous author name full of shit here)'s new edition of enlightenment.  Over the last 10 years or so the amount of infighting in the Pagan Community has led many to take a step back from the word Pagan and try to identify with a different word to distance themselves from some of the negativity and attacks going on within.  I can't blame them.

In the number of times I have tried to work with Pagan groups it tends to end in disappointment. Most talk the talk but few walk the walk. We find those here and there that have the basics down. Meaning they want to celebrate and protect the earth. They want to become more in tune with the energy flow around them and understand that we are all from that same thing. We are all one. Yet, we have egos and attitudes that always spring forth and take over the moment. They are the self initiated authors, teachers or shop owners. They think they are the be all end all of everything magic. It quickly becomes obviously to the most novice acolyte that these people are complete frauds. They know they don't have the skill in magic so they resort to attacking others with gossip to damage reputations instead of trying to build the community up as a whole, they only want to have their Grandpoobah-ness be the exalted one on high, but I digress.

As you can see becoming a witch is a tricky path.  You can't believe everything you read.  You can't believe ever "leader" who claims to be one.  What you can do it watch those people.  Watch the authors.  Read their Twitter account. Look at their Facebook Pages. Do they conduct themselves in a way that makes you want to mirror them?

WikiHow - http://www.wikihow.com/Be-a-Witch
Let's take a recent incident that occurred when a well known author used his coven to cast binding spells on others (one person was included in the spell by accident) and when approached with this the author played the victim and accused those HE attacked as being the guilty ones.  Now, just the fact that you cast a binding spell on the wrong person will pretty much cause me to burn your books in the first place.  I mean what kind of magic do you have that you don't even know who you are casting against?  Seriously.  Then when caught, you lie?  Hrmm yeah no.  That's not cool at all further, that's not energy I want to be associated with.

Public Domain, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?curid=15322490

You'll need to pay attention to what those around you do as well.  When someone in your local community steps out of line, do your fellow Pagans follow along?  Do they say Oh yeah, it's cool.  Don't worry, she didn't mean it like that.  He's isn't really that way, you just have to get to know him. Do they make excuses for bad behavior?  Is that the energy you want in your space? You'll need to understand that for the most part the path of the witch is a solitary one. While we can get together in groups on special occasions and work together for short times on projects, as in any other spiritual community there is always large egos that need feeding.  If you're not a feeder expect to be used as fodder.  It is simple as that.  If you want to be a witch expect that your days may be well spent a long in the woods connecting with the earth.  Bonding with the trees. Opening your eyes to the world what we share with the birds and the bugs. If you want to be a witch toss aside that crown of crystals and pick up a felled tree branch.  Drop that fancy robe or those spiffy deer antler crows you purchased at the last big Pagan Festival and drop to the ground and feel the earth beneath you.  Embrace the energy of the trees and the sounds of the earth around you.  Expect to be shunned by the mundane and even more shunned by the spiritual leader with a degree and a class room.  This is what the path of the witch is like.

Be sure not to misunderstand what I'm saying here.  I'm not saying you shouldn't read or try to understand those authors/pagans/leaders both in your area and online. In fact I'm saying the exact opposite. Read them, study them, learn them.  Take from them what resonates with you and leave the rest behind. By far there is much more to be forgotten than remembered when you're dealing with the magical community. There are many paths in the Pagan Community. From Shamanism to Wicca. From Hoodoo to Witch.  Find your path and learn all you can from those who came before you. Be objective, be critical and be honest with yourself about who you want to be. And always remember that you can question anything and anyone. No one is above you simply because they have some obscure title. You be you boo.
