Rolling with the Punches

It has been an amazing few months. So many things have changes.  My profession (mundane) life has begun a new journey. I'm working on a few new prospects for my career and finding that things are not always as they seem.  After renewal of some certifications and putting myself out there, I have landed a better role and looking forward to how it will grow as I move forward.

I've also begun sharing my WFPB journey in a FB Group. My goal here is to share information to those interested on how to work through the struggles of eating out, grocery shopping and answering the questions of those around me as to what WFPB is and how to be successful at it.

I still struggle with these last 11-15 pounds that just won't drop, but I do want to share with others that I have lost 130 pounds of excess body weight.  With that loss, I also lost my diabetes, my fibromyalgia and all of my prescription drugs. This led me to where I am today with mental clarity, patience and understanding for my fellow earthlings on this planet.

I've also started sharing some of my work from my shop page on TikTok.  I'm working on exploring my creativity in this new venue.  I hope you'll come by and follow me for the random, weird and sometimes cool things that I have going on in my life.

On my magical front, I've been working on Empath Empowerment workshops on my FB page. I'm alternating between readings for clients and offering support for those who experience the sometimes draining effects of dealing with being empathic. I look forward to helping our community learn to ward, protect and guide themselves away from negativity and learn to cope with the influx of emotions that can sometimes come up in our lives.

My next update is that I have had my shop up for about 2 months now. Things are going very well. I have sold out of several of my products and have limited space for new clients.  If you're interested in becoming a client you can click this link to learn about my packages. From ad-hoc or single readings to a committed contract where I make myself available to you for a selected time frame, each one offers my commitment to provide you with the most reliable readings, the best information and the support you need to wade through this murky quagmire that we call life. I would love to work with you, feel free to tap the chat button at the bottom of the page or reach out by purchasing one of my readings.

Overall, life is good. We're rolling with the punches as the world changes around us. I hope that you have an amazing Samhain and if you're up for it, reach out for a reading from an ancestor.  All I need is a photo and your energy to hear the voices of those passed.

Blessings!

Life Update - Goals & Desires

It has been a while since I posted an update on the status of life here. I've been working on a few things this year and still have a few goals to reach before the end of the years.

The majority of my year this year has been focused on my health. I had a situation with a hernia that needed to be repaired and had some issues with my iron levels. About 22 years ago I had a Roux n Y gastric bypass where the surgeon was incompetent and ended up removing most of my stomach and small intestines. This removal resulted in me becoming unable to absorb nutrients from any items that I ingest orally. In early January of this year I went for my physical and the resulting labs showed anemia. A follow up appointment showed it drop so much that I was referred to a hematologist for iron infusion therapy. Fast forward to today, I've had 5 infusion sessions which consist of 5 weekly iron iv drips at the hospital. After each of the sessions, I go back for another round of blood work which reveals another drop in my iron levels. It has been exhausting.

This year we lost Turtle. She was such a powerful energy in the house. Since we first got her and took her for rides on the motorcycle to carrying to the vet for the last time, she was everything to me. Her voice ever so present, her energy, a force not to be ignored. It has been about 4 months or so now and I miss her terribly. There will never be another one, she was indeed my only one.

During this time, I completed three certifications for my mundane job and began to tidy things up for my shop. I now have all my items back on Etsy and am working to get the word out about my coaching services. I now offer holistic wellness, self help and personal counseling services. These range from divination/oracle/aura and photo readings to wellness management in lifestyle coaching for diet nutrition and general wellness. I've outlined that information on this page.

I have even created my own line of magical tools. I introduced Witch Tacks this year.  These are resin filled tacks that can be placed upright on a shelf, mantle or altar to surround your areas with magical intentions or alternatively they can be "tacked" into the ground around your property or in planters and such to create magical wards and protection circles around your space.

I also have created a protection set, a prosperity set and a healing set.  These also come as a set of four, but are clear and have magical herbs incased within each.

These would generally be placed on an altar or at the four directional points in a magic circle. You can find these in my Etsy shop here.

Overall it has been a pretty amazing year, even with the pandemic. Even with the illness and the lack of events. I'm trying to get this thing working as an online thing.  We'll see how it goes. Here's hoping for a better 2022!  I hope you have had a healthy and happy new year!

Blessings!

Stay-cation - Day 1

So first day of my stay-cations I usually like to just cruise around to check out thrift stores.  I love going to them.  There's always something awesome I can find.

I thought what a cool idea to take my blog followers on my stay-cation with me.  So here we go!

We started out the day by having coffee and then headed out to feed the ferals.  As we were pulling out the driveway I noticed that my cactus was blooming.

I love taking pictures.  This one shows just how much that yellow pops off the green. Stunning.

Next we went to the group that live behind a place called Morgan's.  This is the same spot where we are currently trapping.  We stopped in and checked on the kitten traps.  Both were empty.  We did spot a new cat.  When hubby tried to take a picture he did a impromptu selfie.  I thought it was cute so I saved it.

We finished feeding in the area and I was able to see one of the little ones peek at me.

Next we stopped in to feed the little one that hung out with Traveler.  Traveler passed away earlier this week and it was good to see this one still around.

We dropped the food and then head out for breakfast and gas to head to Raleigh.

Now was some time for hit the thrift stores, Trader Joe's and then head back home.

I love Trader Joe's.  We have a great time there.  We picked up some nice organics and I took this awesome picture of the watermelon display.

After Trader Joe's we packed up the goodies and headed home.  It was a long drive but the company was great!  We chatted about politics while I was totally being grossed out by my friends on Loren's share of this crazy picture and the discussion of soggy bread!

So finally home, unpacking my goodies and getting ready for a quiet night at home.

Here are the amazing deals I found at the assorted thrift stores.  This is a really cool wall hanging box that I found.  I think I'm going to repaint it, take off the painted scallop on the top piece and make a small altar out of it.

Here I found some cool beads for rings and jewelry a compass set for Hubby and a really cool looking crystal ball stand that looks like lapis lazuli snakes!    I got another tiny little box and a cool bottle.

This is my super cool Starbucks swag and awesome anchor measuring cup.  Both for $2.00.

There you have it.  Stay-cation Day 1.   Thanks for taking a peek and seeing my crazy.

Sosanna's Closet Shop Launched

Good Afternoon Everyone!  I have wonderful news.  Over the past week I've been working diligently on my webpage. That's right, I finally got Sosannascloset.com up and running.  I've been able to add much of my content and even got my on storefront up and going.

I had hoped to be able to open a physical shop within the next few months but it does not appear that I'm going to be able to do that.  So instead hubby and I will continue attending vending events locally as well as getting the online shop open.

I've created several pages to outline the type of work I do, from jewelry to wreaths to clay.  Slowly I'll be limiting what I sell on Esty and cycling over to my online shop and my Facebook page.

I'm so exciting to be sharing this news with you today.  As part of this special I'm offering free US shipping on all the items currently listed in my online shop.  Head over and check it out!!

NaBloWriMo - Witchy Wednesday #2

Last week for Witchy Wednesday I gave you a few blogs that I like to go to in order to stay up to date with my Witchy news.   This week I’m going to talk about those things that we all need to keep our witchdom up and running.  SHOPPING!

Buying new Witchy items can be extremely time consuming and expensive.  Living in a rural area can be daunting if there are no new age stores nearby.  I live in a very small town and have over an hour to drive in each direction before I find a pagan shop.  Here’s a few that I have close.

To the South West I have

To the West I have

To the North I have

And Sojourner Whole Earth Provisions.

Each a pretty far drive from me.  Much of my shopping like so many others I have to take mundane items and make them magical.  I hit up local thrift stores to find candle holders, incense trays or other items.  These are a great place to get good merchandise at a really low price and work on lowering our carbon foot print.

Below on my altar you can see my red tray that I use to keep my tea lights in order.  I got this at the thrift store.  Total price 3.00.  :)  (Altar built by my wonderful hubby)

Other options for getting your witch on is of course online shopping.  This year we saw eBay remove spells from their list of approved items.  No longer can you order a sex genie to increase the size of your penis, but I noticed last night a quick search for “Spells” quickly returned over 3000 items.  Probably the only people put out of business by their new policy were actual witches, but I digress.

I've personally purchased from several online shops and I know owners of several Etsy shops.  There are lots out there, but I’m going to highlight just a few.

In an attempt to develop my scrying abilities I purchased a crystal ball from Pagan Stuff Cheap, a division of Eye of Nuit, Snowy has made this a great place to go to get your witchywears.  My crystal ball is amazing, I absolutely love it.

I've also found an amazing lady “Eliora” who makes these wonderful athames.  They are astounding.  Each one is directed to a particular Goddess.  I’ve had my eye on that Hecate one for quite a while now.  She has each one listed in her Etsy shop as well as amazing collection of besoms, and even an entire altar cabinet that is just amazing!

I've also started my own shop – Sosanna’s Closet

Many people asked me why I started this shop.  Well I've always been a rather crafty witch with a really good ability to think outside the box.  The most common phrase in my house is, “Don’t throw that away I can use it for something.”   I've made wreaths and other items for folks and everyone always said, you should sell these.  So, this year I started my online business.

I hope to have an actual store front over the next few years.  I participate in local vending events and also have an esty shop.   My goal is provide a lovely addition to someone’s altar or magical space without taking their first born as payment.

Here are a few of my wares.

So that’s it for this week’s Witchy Wednesday.  Take a moment to check out each of the shops if you can.  If not, buy local.  Local artisans are just trying to stay afloat in this economy; small businesses really need your support.  You can help them build it! (smirk)

Sosanna's Closet

Over the last few months I've been thinking about what I'd like to do with my life.  Yes, one of those, there's no grandbabies so what am I going to do with my retirement.  Granted I'm only 42 years old, and retirement is still a really LONG way away, still it's been in my mind.

Last month hubby and I chatted and I said, you know, I'd really like to work for myself.  Be my own boss.  Get a little store front and open a shop where I could sell stuff that I like.  Pagan stuff, metaphysical stuff, candles, skulls and the like.   I think having our little booth at the Earth Day Event at Truely Unique in Wilson really nailed it for me.  We made over 100.00 with some little things that I tossed together.  I was really pleased with that.

He said ok let's do it.  So I went down and registered my business name.  I've been using Sosanna's Closet for a while on Etsy, Facebook and on my web page and figured, what the hell.  I registered Sosanna's Closet.  This week I've spent some time on two tasks.  One, review web hosting plans and find the best deal for my money and two, prayer beads.

The first was pretty straight forward, I would prefer to get my domain name included as well as not having a host that shoots elephants in his off time.  :)   The prayer beads were a bit more challenging.  I've been looking into them for a while and found that many pagan's use these.  I've not used them myself however, I do have to save they are absolutely gorgeous!

So I tried my hand at making a few sets over the weekend.  They turned out amazing!  I added a few to the website and to the esty shop as well as adding the new elemental boxes.  I've posted some photos here for you to enjoy.

I'm now reaching out to my blog followers and those that see me on Facebook or Twitter.  Sosanna's Closet has her own Twitter Account and Facebook Page.  We'd love to have new friends, likes and followers.  If you have the time head over and check us out.
