Stay-cation Day 10

Today is the last day of stay-cation.  Most of the morning was spent finishing up some yard work.  I had a really good stay-cation this time.  Usually I'm really worried about work, or I've added so many projects that I have to go back to work in order to relax.

I didn't photo the yard work, because well, it's yard work. I cut the last batch of pots off the wheel head today. They turned out really good.

I think I can put my stamp on this stay-cation and say job well done.

The rest of the evening will be spent working on my dreads and spending time with da hubby.

Stay-cation Day 9

On day 9 of my stay-cation we started out the day as usual.  I did find some disturbing comments on a discussion which really hurt my feelings.  I need to learn that there are people out there who will run you down no matter what you do.  Luckily I was able to talk it out and get on with my day.

For breakfast we had fresh eggs from the hens and then made our way out to feed the feral colonies and check out a few flea markets in Smithfield.

We saw the kitty without a tail and the gray and white at Morgans.

We saw the two black cats and the tiger stripe at the greenhouse.

Next we stopped by Five Star for lunch.

We stopped by the flea markets.  They were a bit of a disappointment.  We decided to head out early and just go back home.  We did however stop to do a couple's selfie behind the truck!

Finally we came back home and I needed to finish up some Kyanite pendants and throw a few pots.

Over all it was a fantastic day.  I learned that when people run you down, talk trash about you or post hate online. It is generally out of envy.  People gossip out of jealousy. You have a choice, you can allow it to fester in your mind or you can feel it, identify it and let it go.  The best thing you can do is keep being who you are and sparkle on.

Guess which one I did?

Stay-cation Day 8

Today was Friday.  Eli and I feed the Goldsboro Ferals on Friday.  Before we left I cut the pots off the bats that I threw last night.  They turned out pretty good.

Then we headed out to Goldsboro.

Nums for the kitties.

We found a couple of new faces at the Greenhouse today. I'm not sure they are actually "new new" or just new to me.

We stopped by Traveler's old spot and dropped off some food.  Andi wasn't there but I did see this cool bug.

Then we went to Lowes.  I love the flower area.

I love the smell of petunia always reminds me of my grandma.

Finally we came home and I worked on some wrapping.  I made this really cool ring tonight with a triple basket weave.  I really like it.

I wrapped this Kyanite (Witch's Broom)

And made some ceramic skull earrings.

Overall it was a pretty awesome day!

Stay-cation - Day 7

Today there wasn't much time for photo taking today.  Hubby and I needed to clean out the pole barn.  Our barn was full of stuff that we've always just stored away thinking we'd use them eventually.  Sorry for this blurry picture.  But this is what it looked like before.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson
We we pulled out a truck load of stuff from the barn, as well as doing our other regular chores.  It was literally a truckload.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson
Yes, that's FOUR doors and and a wading pool.  LOL  Under all that stuff is also 2 lawnmowers!

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson
Here's the finished product.  We worked our tushes off today.  It looks wonderful.  We were able to move extra stuff out of my studio today, which is already in the barn in the picture above!!  Soo excited.  Now I have room for four shelves that will allow me to place my green-ware, bisque-ware and my ready to fire pottery all in one neat organized area.

After we finished cleaning up, vacuuming and getting the room all set I decided to go ahead and throw a few pots.  A few friends have requested that I make an urn for them.  I've only been throwing for six months so I'm just learning the shapes that I need to make for these pots.  I ended up with one below.  I've got a lot of work to do.  But I'm determined.

After finishing the pots I had a nice hot bath.  I am beat.  Now I'm updating my blog and watching The Daily Show with the hubby.  I think I have been over-productive this stay-cation.

Stay-cation - Day 6

Today was good day.  Hubby helps out a friend of ours by taking her son to school.  Today and tomorrow are the last days of the school year so he went off early this morning to take care of that.  While he was away I went outside to finish up his chores really fast so maybe we could go to a movie or do something fun that he might like.

Part of my chores in the morning is feeding the feral colony outside and getting the eggs.  Hubby waters the garden.

A little blurry but here is White Tip in front, Ragged Tooth behind her and back on the back fence you can see Lou sitting waiting for his turn.

This is Brown Kitty (yes, I'm running out of names).

 This handsome boy is Phantom.

Smudge didn't show to the bowls until late, I'll get a pic of him next time.

The hens have decided that all the eggs must be placed in the same nest.  Even if one hen is already in the nest.  We have six nests for 7 chickens. They all lay in the same nest.  Sometimes a different nest, but all in the same nest each day.

This morning Hubby needed to hoe the garden and cut the grass along the edge.  So I did all the chores really fast.  The cucumbers are doing really well, tomatoes.. eh..  Melons... pretty good.   I only photographed the Melons and the Cucumbers, I'm trying to shame the tomatoes into growing better.

When hubby came back I was sure he would take me to see X-Men or something, I surprised him with his completed chores and asked him what he wanted to do.  He said.... (wait for it)  Buy a door.

Yeah, that's right, he wanted to go buy a door.  So we piled in the truck and went to buy a door.  We found a door at Habitat for Humanity yesterday, so we decided to go see if it was still there.

We scored our door and then took a drive.  We like to ride together.  We used to be stuck on the 5 coming from Oceanside to San Diego every day driving from work to home when we lived on the West Coast.  We loved just sitting and talking in the car.  We found locations for 3 new Flea Markets we plan to check out over the weekend.  We grabbed some lunch and then headed home.

Hubby began the door work.  He took off the old door, did some stuff with the chisel and then asked me to hold the door.  He then had to leave to go pick up the kid from school.  He came back and finished it.  Now I have an awesome new door in the studio!

I really love the door handle.  It looks almost like the pages of a book on the top.  Lots of character.

After dinner we had to go release the kitties we got spayed yesterday.  Here are the two we released.

We then went for ice cream and came home.  I have the best life in the world.  And the best husband.

Now time for some TV and off to bed.

Stay-cation Day 4

Today started out with a beautiful sunrise!

I thought the pond looked cool, so I took a picture of it.

Lou peeked his head in to watch me put out the food for my feral colony.

Then I let the chickens out.

This "little" guy was in the trap this morning.  He already had his ear tipped so we let him go.  He was NOT happy about it.  I'll add the video below.

This is the gray mama kitty.  We've been trying to get her for weeks.  She is sooo smart!

We went to the Goldsboro City Cemetery to put out some flags and checkout the memorials.  The Confederate Memorial has 800 troops buried in a mass grave.  200 of those are unidentified.

We also went out to the Outlaw Memorial to put out flags as well.  Here are some shots from there.  Captain James Outlaw is my 5th Great Grandfather.

We came back home to water the garden and do some chores.  I needed to get some rose petals drying for spell component packs for PPD.

Then it was time to pet the kitten.

We went back to Goldsboro one last time to collect the traps and look who was in there!!!  WE got her!!  She will be fixed tomorrow!

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

We then got a call that there was a female out at Pet Palace that needed to be fixed too, so we drove out and picked her up as well.  It's going to be a full house tomorrow!

Stay-cation Day 3

Happy Day 3!!

Today I started out with a nice cup of coffee in my thrift store find.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

You can't head out to check on the colonies without supplies.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

Next  we headed out to have some breakfast.  We usually don't eat out often because there's really not that many healthy choices locally.  The place we went to had a little heart on the items on their menu that were healthy.   Hubby and I laughed and laughed.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

We then headed out to check our traps.  There's a guy in our area that lives in a shed.  He was watching my traps and called me last night to tell me I had one in the trap.  I went and found it was one that already had an ear tip.  We released it and hubby was looking in the back and saw another kitten.  So we reset the trap and put it out to try to get him.  I saw a cool flower bush while I was out.

We saw a kitty that looked like it might need some vet care.

I recently broke my water cup, so after the kitties were all finished we went to Big Lots to find a cup.  We didn't find a cup but I found some cute shoes!

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

I also found these awesome yoga frogs.  We didn't buy them, but I did snap a pic of them and the gnome next door.

Before we headed back home, hubby thought we should check the traps.  We rode through and all were empty.  BUT ONE.

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

This little one will be socialized and we'll be trying to get him into the SpayToday $20 kitten fix-a-thon for June.

We headed back home to do some stuff around the house.  Hubby let me use the dremel.  I still have all my fingers and nothing was broken.

I'm currently working on several wands.  These aren't like the Harry Potter style wands I made before. These will have crystals in them and will be sweeeet!

Here's a sneak peek.  They are a LONG way from being done.

I also was able to get a photo of one of the crystal balls we carry on this awesome crystal ball stand I found at the thrift store.  I know it's probably not really a crystal ball stand but I really liked the way it looked.  It had good energy so we picked it up.

Hubby ate a pear and got a belly ache.  There's no photos of that because he doesn't like to have pictures taken when he's a "poor baby".

Next we headed back out to check the traps again.  We checked the first location.... nothing.  Second location... well, it's not a cat!

Photo Credit - Renee Sosanna Olson

It was a little baby opossum.  We released the little guy and reset the trap.

We did end up getting a video of the new kitten - Here he is with Nightshade.

The rest of the evening will be spent hanging out with hubby.
